Marina,
I wanted to thank you for your help in the remodel
of my Sun Valley condo. As you may recall, I started
with the intent of just freshening up an otherwise tired
interior. However, as is often the case, the project quickly
became a major remodel with most of the unit being torn down to
the studs and windows and walls moved.
At that point I needed someone to help with room design and interior finishes.
I can say I was impressed immediately with your directness and candor and feel
I made a great decision in engaging your help. Nils and Katharine appreciated
your sensitivity to them as kids and willingness work with what they wanted
in their bedrooms.
Over the months that followed, you demonstrated a clear ability to understand
what I was looking for and provided me with clear options to choose from.
Working at a distance of almost a thousand miles, your communication by email,
phone and mailing samples was a great help in pulling together what I believe
was an excellent new home for myself and my children.
Thanks for all of your help.
-Ray Brandstrom
Marina was instrumental in turning
our log house into a home. Since I was 2000 miles
away,
Marina coordinated everything from paint colors,
countertop choices, rug installation, furniture
orders and many other deliveries. Oneof the
boldest suggestions was to replace the river rock
fireplace
with concrete, giving the house a more
comtemporary look. We worked together easily, sharing
ideas and
Marina never hesitated in sending more choices to
me. Her choice of color and materials was exactly
what
I was looking for and she managed to give the
house a comtemporary and clean look while still being
comfortable.
Marina was timely and professional every step of
the way.

Marina, The walls look so great - the
whole room does. Thanks so much for coming to the
resucue and getting it done!
-Heather
We love the cabinet in the new
powder room - thanks for your help. It was nice seeing
you. You have a lovely store.
-Helen Z.
We couldn't have done it without you
- many thanks
-Ken

Great write up today in The Weekly Sun, about Red Door: Click Here to Read

I would like to thank you all for another great year. Because of you, I am happy to say that Red Door is celebrating its fifth year of business in the valley. During those five years, I have stuck with my original concept which is to offer beautiful, unique and quality home furnishings to the valley at great prices. I have mixed styles of furniture and accessories, from unique one-of-a-kind hand carved furniture from India, to sleek clean lined pieces. I always have an assortment of fun table and floor lamps, candles, mirrors, pillows, metal, glass and ceramic home accessories. If you do not see what you are looking for, I have many catalogs that I special order from and carry an upholstery line that custom makes each piece with your choice of frame style, cushion fill and fabric-usually delivered within six weeks...and often sooner!
RED DOOR introduces Eco Chic Design
Many of my manufactures in the past year have switched their mind-set and have brought environmentally-friendly furnishings and accessories into their lines. I have been very excited about the design and innovation of these companies and have many of these pieces in the store.
My upholstery line uses wood from replenished domestic forests for their frames, soy-based foam cushions, down wrap, recycled plastic bottle fill cushion backs and natural fabric options. They have surpassed many of their upholstery competitors in eco chic design by switching to these new materials.
Other companies have offered certified or reclaimed woods for their furniture including Mango wood and reclaimed Teak and also the use non-toxic finishes on their products.
"Green" accessories include decorative recycled glass bottles, metal candle holders, and natural reed decorative bowls.

Reconsider Your Sources, Nurture the Planet
"Green supplies are comparable in price to other custom options such as stone countertops and solid wood flooring," Broschofsky says. "They’re beautiful and unique, easy to install-it's just a matter of opening your mind. Unfortunately, so many people still have a mindset that things like granite countertops are the only way to go." Leave countertops unfinished and you can apply a natural oil finish, rather than lacquering over them."

The Challenge
Jeff and Kathleen Uberuaga had a rustic log home that needed refreshing. They also were very “green” conscious and used this awareness throughout the entire project. Though the whole house—which was wall-to-wall wood—experienced a change, the kitchen was redone rather than replaced. Storage was essential as the couple has three children. The family was living in New York during the remodel and returned to a beautifully updated home.
